The work

The legalization of medical marijuana and then the passing regulated recreational use in California opened the doors to a much more diverse customer. A company’s brand should not only be a voice of the business, but a mirror – a reflection of our customers desire to be seen, heard and recognized as more than just a “stoner”.

I led the way for an “Elevated” design and marketing language – a new style with a much more representative presence.

Elevated Design at Weedmaps was more than just a set of guidelines, it was a pathway to reach a new audience through imagery, color, tone and voice. It influenced everything from digital campaigns to application design and UX.
